has anybody else noticed the outrageous numbers posted by some of the few remaining run oriented football teams this year. 397 yards rushing by the West Virgina kid, 322 by UCLA's RB, I think someone had 350 last week. 200 yard rushing days are becoming routine. Over 5 kids had over 234 yards yesterday. The spread offense is nice but you still have to block and tackle-something that is very hard to simulate when you spend your time against the spread.

Good point, Stallion. I was thinking the same thing when I saw SportsCenter last night. That kid from UCLA, in particular, looked absolutely unstoppable.

When Ron Myer switched from Mike Ford and the passing attack, to Lance McIlhenny and the pony express, he said that the problem with the wide open passing game was that you could go 99 yards, but not just one at the goal line. The fundamental problem with old the Rossley offense was that the team got cheap yards, but was not a real threat offensively. And as for our present attempts to salvage pride from our disasters at TCU and OSU by citing offensive yardage production, forgetaboutit. When you are bad, you are bad. We are playing out of class these days and sinking lower. These mis-match games are injuring too many players to think the money is worth it. Granted that we must get the 15,000 fans attendance average to remain Div. 1-A, but our NC scheudle is not working.

Agreed, the spread offense is a fad. The best offense is a balanced one, not this crap we put out on the field. I feel bad for Mulin, he thought he was going to a team that would be dedicated to running the ball.

How is that? Edmondson's attack was pass-oriented as well.

Huh? Last year was basically KK and a cloud of dust every down.
