DMN says Muse is "questionable" for SJSU. I thought he tore his ACL!

SMU

Saturday's result: Oklahoma State 59, SMU 7

Next game: vs. San Jose State, 7 p.m. Saturday

Any injuries? LB Cory Muse (right knee), CB Charles Akinyemi (bruised ribs), FS Jamey Harper (bruised thigh), DB Jonathan Lindley (back spasms) and WR Wesley Medlock (separated left shoulder). Muse is questionable for the San Jose State game.

News and notes: Coach Phil Bennett said the team has eight games to improve and that Saturday's game starts the real season. ... The Mustangs had a season-high five turnovers and a season-high three dropped passes against OSU. ... Jerad Romo's interception marked the third straight game SMU QBs have thrown one.

Questionable? I've heard of linemen doing that, but not guys who rely on speed and quickness, like Muse does.

Maybe it's a sprained ACL instead of a tear? Supposedly he "heard it pop" - I had something similar happen in high school. The doctor told me the "pop" was just like an enormous knuckle cracking, so I certainly felt it, but it wasn't ruptured. I ended up on crutches, but only for a few weeks. We shall see.

The real question is how his MIA will effect the rotation at DT and DE?

I think we'll still be OK there, even though his loss is just that - a loss.

Melvin Williams and Justin Rogers will continue to start at DE. Charlie Berry will be one backup, and I expect Brent Karrington (who can play DE and DT) will get more time at DE. Inside, we still have Allan Adami, Desmond Jones, Lucky DeLay, Brandon Bonds, Randy Denman and Karrington.

So it is mainly the LBs and secondary we need to worry about?

"questionable" may mean that they havent done an MRI yet, because they're waiting for the swelling to drop. That wouldnt be unusual.

so the mri results showed a tear... what a loss... i think we really needed him to gain some experience this year... now hes going to be yet another year away from truly contributing.

tons of injuries so far this year... i dont recall being this banged up going into conference before.. am i wrong?

No, you're not wrong. This streak is unreal for this early in the season.
