anybody notice the freshman corner this week?I am officially a one-man fan club of Jonathon Lindley. I was at the game this weekend and was very impressed with his play, including a great broken up pass in the endzone. This kid is a great athlete. Future is bright for the Mustang secondary. Anybody else notice this kid?
BEWARE-THE EXPRESS SHALL RISE AGAIN!
Absoltely! He's a big guy with a lot of talent. He had a couple of freshman penalties Saturday, but he's going to be a good one. In two years, when he and Brandon Jones are both grizzled veterans, that will be a pair of big, physical, strong CBs who can really run. Throw David Haynes in there, and Fred Turner, and whoever we recruit between now and then, and we'll have a terrific stable of CBs with terrific speed and athleticism.
Re:
nope. nice try, though. my email is there for all to see if you really want to know who I am! I doubt he even knows who the masterful guitar player was! BEWARE-THE EXPRESS SHALL RISE AGAIN!
Re:
I didn't say he was perfect. Didn't put on my Heisman list. He's a freshman. Yes - had a couple of penalties. I am just saying that I think he is fun to watch. He is really intense. I think he has a bright future and can help the Ponies down the right path. That's all. Watch him when he is in. Special teams, defense, etc. He gets after it. BEWARE-THE EXPRESS SHALL RISE AGAIN!
JL had a couple of penalties, but freshman mistakes are allowed in a win. I love the guy's potential. He already has D-I size and speed, and he's only going to get better with more strength and experience. There's a reason a lot of bigtime programs were after the guy - he can flat-out play!
he made the best defensive play of the Nite-loved it -which I pointed out on Saturday-BUT he was offsides-saved a TD nonetheless. I hope to see him start sooner rather than later. We'll find out a lot more about our CBs and all defensive secondary positions this weekend.
I don't remember if he played in the TT game, but I really liked what I saw from #21 in the San Jose game (didn't make it to frogland or Stillwater). He's not only tall, he looks strong, too. And he can run. Seems to have good footwork and hips, and seems kind of instinctive, from what I saw. With a little seasoning, he should be a pillar in our secondary for a few years.
I do not care what Pony Snub offers up, because I have liked Lindley since he came to campus on his recruiting visit.
By the way, Coach Bennett believes Jonathan has the talent to play in the NFL for a long time. Coach Bennett knows talent and will help coach him to be readyfor the NFL. SMU...2nd to None
