Are there any good road trip games before 2006?Still pining for the days of good away games to see the Mustangs. Still have my fond memories of travelling to New Orleans and the Tulane games. However, it does not look like there is anywhere worth travelling to this year or next. No knocks on the folks in Boise or Fresno but they ain't exactly garden spot that I can build a long weekend around. I might go to Houston to see a Rice or Houston game but that would be it. aTm over hypes their wonderful college atmosphere and it really is just a down in back in my opinion. Birmingham is a nice enough city but not really worth the trip. Tulsa is an up and back and Marshall is a no go considering its location and difficulty in getting there. 2006, however, offers us awesome trips to support the team. Chicago, Boston, Greenville, and The Big Easy have me looking towards the 2006 season as a really good year.
If I am off base on some of these locations, set me straight. Otherwise it is praying for TV coverage or trying to get The Ticket to come in on my radio in Allen to follow the team for road games for awhile. 2004 Boise St. Rice UTEP Fresno St. 2005 TAMU -College Station Houston Marshall - Huntington, WV Tulsa UAB - Birmingham 2006 Northwestern - Chicago Boston College -Boston ECU -Greenville, NC Rice Tulane -New Orleans UTEP Class of '91
Boston is a great city. we mustangs up in the North East will attend. Boston has over 20 colleges. a very easy to use subway called the T. lot's of history, sea food, pubs. My family and I try to go there every other year. make it to boston and you won't be disappointed.
I't about time the mustangs played up north, Navy doesn't count as it's south of the mason dixon line.
Northwestern in 2006 would be a great trip and I will host attendees. Big Ten atmosphere and Evanston is a great town in the fall.

I'm already starting to save up my $$$ for the Boston trip! Clam chowder and lobster for the tailgating before the game. Yeah, baby!

Boston is outstanding for a football roadtrip!
I attended the Penn State at Boston College game last month. Walked the Freedom Trail, ate great Italian meals in the northend, toured Cambridge (Harvard - the SMU of the north and MIT), visited Boston Common, Boston Public Garden, Beacon Hill, Back Bay and Boston Harbor, etc. The bars were exceptional, the women mostly beautiful and the weather was perfect. I could go on and on...Boston is a classy city with numerous interesting neighborhoods, historic sites and fun social (bars/restaurants) areas. BC has an attractive campus (some Gothic buildings) in the suburbs (Chestnut Hill) too. Last edited by Cheesesteak on Fri Oct 01, 2004 1:29 pm, edited 1 time in total.
OOC GamesMy guess is that these games - Northwestern & BC will get cancelled and switched with games more in the Texas area - North Texas, LA Tech... I think both parties will want to get out of the contract. I think Jim Copeland communicated after OSU that our scheduling goal is Big 12 South, TCU, and a winnable game against an area opponent. While I would love these 'national type' of games, I'm not sure we will play them in the future
Are there any good road trip games before 2006?Aggies don’t really expect everyone to get “itâ€....but, you can bet I will be making that game! And for those that do...Whoop!
Re: Are there any good road trip games before 2006?Every Aggie that I know that got 'it' had to get a shot of penicillin. Sadly, the Chicken Ranch is no longer in business. Texas Congressmen, Aggie$, Teasips and central Texas high school boys are still crying in their beer.
Are there any good road trip games before 2006?MrMustang1965, I will not come back with a slam to SMU, this Aggie has class. (But thanks for a laugh!)
Can't wait to make the trip down I-45 in 2005 to play the Aggie$ at Kyle Field. Just put away the sabres this time!
