SMU safteys having a great game. That is the good part.
Our offensive line is missing blocks. THere are several plays where nobody is even laying a pad on anyone on the Boise State rush. Hopefully that can be straightened out at the half.
Cleveland dropped what could have beena huge play, but the O has no rythym.
Defensively, we are caught between a rock and a hard place. Our D line is running stunts and pass rushing, to try and get some pressure, but it is killing us against the run, creating big holes up the middle. If they stop doing that in order to stop the run, Boise will have too long to sit in the pocket.
Our LBs are having a VERY poor game in my opinion. McCray has made some plays, but Stansbury is really struggling. He has missed some tackles, and has let some guys beat him one on one. He doesn't have a lot of speed. The LBs are NOT doing a good job against the run, which is why our sateties are making so many tackles.
Adami is being pushed around on the D-Line. Rogers is as well. We may need to put Bonds and Jones in together to try and plug the middle. Williams has been effective against the run.

I wish I could say I felt like we are making progress, but I dont see it. I hope you guys that do are right. Even for us, that was a poor first half. You have to protect your qb. I know Boise is good, but the same problems are prevalent.

You have to keep the defense off the field. Period.

Uh....SMU allowed 28 points....
"Great" would've been a hold with less than a minute in the half...

We are lucky to only had given up 28 points...The O had 1 first down...the D was on the field most of the half *hats off to the d*
Plus the D is the reason we have our TD

the D was on the field basically the entire 1st half and as everybody knows, we don't have a lot of depth yet...so the end result in this game is inevitable. I do think we've got some good young players and as Bennett builds more depth, these guys are going to be very competitive. On the offensive side of the ball, we need a lot of help, but we;ve got some guys redshirting (Henderson, Martin & Chase in particular) who are going to help us next year. We definitely need to upgrade the offensive skill positions before we are ever going to compete with top 25 programs, but I think these guys will find another win or two on the schedule before this year is finished.

Runing Adami, Karrington, and Rogers out on the field at the same time is tough. Those guys can make plays, but they make our line extremely small.

Why do we keep wasting plays with Munlin up the middle? He has gained approx 3 yards in 8 carries up the middle. Makes no sense!
