Rushing game was awful last night

2.45 yards per carry last night. This might be the worst rushing attack post DP. The DMN says Munlin had 14 yards on 11 carries - a very unimpressive average of barely over a yard per carry. The box score says 11 carries for 17 yards. In either case, that is pretty pitiful. Brown did have 20 yards on 2 carries, but one of those where he gained most of his yards was at the end of the game.

I seriously doubt that is anywhere near the worse average since the DP. And, there are currently 5 div IA schools with worse YPCs for the entire year. :P

Oh, and Boise has the 3rd best rushing yards allowed in the nation and allows just 2.34 YPC. Actually we performed better than Boise's average opponent! 8)

Relax and don't expect PonySnob make a positive comment about these players. The glass in less than a quarter full and for him that is generous.

Go Ponies, Beat the Owls!

Given the fact that the defenses the Ponies have faced include two Big 12 teams, a TCU that claims to have a very strong defense and a Boise Team that might well roll through their whole season unscathed, even the most skeptical will have to admit that the numbers are badly skewed and an inaccurate reflection of the Ponies' ability. Check back at the end of the season.

OK, I'll buy that.
How's Rice's run defense?

Owls are giving up 109 yards per game on the ground, 281 per through the air, for what it's worth.
