Bennett said Derron Brown and Richuel Massey will get more carries, because of inconsistency in the running game.

Kendall Mouton is redshirting - has a bacterial infection in his throat.

Rice RB Thomas Lott won't play because of an injury suffered in spring practice (not a bad thing - that guy is a great runner.)

Does that mean that he will use Brown and Massey out of one-back sets as the tailback our only out of two-back sets since they are both fullbacks?

Massey is really a tailback playing fullback. I would assume he'll get his carries out of a more traditional TB role.

I'd love to see Massey have a strong game against the Owls. With his strength, balance and power (not to mention his speed), it's not out of the question, considering the fact that Rice isn't that huge across the defensive line or at LB. His combination of power and speed might be quite effective, if he's given enough carries.

I'm cool with Massey picking up some of Munlin's carries if a change needs to be made, but what happened to Cedrick Dorsey? Isn't he the #2 guy?

Or does this just mean they're going to go with RB-by-committee until someone steps to the forefront?
