BOY YOU GUYS are really pouring it on today. CRY, CRY , CRY, WHINE, WHINE, WHINE. TOO MUCH FOR MY OLD HEART TO TAKE.You guys are the most criticizing people i've ever seen.I DON'T LIKE LOSING but I be damn if i'll cry over spilled milk.PLAYERS, COACHES, TRAINERS, AD WHOMEVER YOU WANT TO BLAME probably didn't like the outcome, but guess what they are back out there today while your fat azzes are at home eating cheetos scrathing your balls and buts beating these people down even more .MODAY MORNING QUATERBACKS, YOU can always do better after the original outcome. This program needs your SUPPORT regardless if they win or lose. I'VE never been around losing and don't like it.I would hope you guys be more supportive regardless of the outcome. Find a silver lining in the midst of this struggling program. I'm moving on to La. Tech. You guys cry about Houston or Rice, that game has been played it's IN THE BOOKS.Let's support these hard working young men they need us everyone else will recover .SUPPORT THOSE GUYS IS MY BATTLE CRY :!: :!: :!: :!: I hate losing but I LOVE THOSE YOUN MEN MORE. One of the players said "I'm sorry you drove all this way to see this crap" and I said "Hey man I came to see you guys." Those kids know what we want but if we don't help them through these times why would they want to go out there week in and week out and chase tha darn ball :!: :!: COME ON GUYS CAN YOU FEEL WHAT THEY NEED :!: :!: :!: US S-U-P-P-O-R-T I'M OUT OF HERE. I'm right there with you, SCAMP - on all counts. The Rice game is a thing of the past, and it's time to start gearing up to beat LaTech!

No most of us are probably working our [deleted] off to give the financial support that this program has to have in order to survive. So far, it is like throwing money into the toilet and flushing it.

I've moved on in my mind, but I'd be more worried if there wasn't some bellyaching going on. That was a real bad loss. It gets alot worse and alot more personal at many other places. Try the Texas forum today, I bet its brutal. This is really pretty tame stuff and I'm glad there is nothing personal directed at anybody.

You can keep your money . There are others who have and will help out.A wise man knows not to flush or throw good money away.I think you are wise because if you were not you would not support this program.Your financial support is appreciated as well as your moral support. It will payoff soon :!:

You guys make me laugh. “the most criticizing people i've ever seen.” – man, I hope your kidding. Half of the high schools in DFW would be more critical of their players and coaches if they had a fan forum. If you want to see brutal, criticizing fans go read the Horns or Nebraska fan forums.

I also believe in supporting the program. My gifting level is at the $1,000+ level, I buy 6 season football tickets, and 4 season basketball tickets + parking for both sports. My total annual bill is in the $3, 500+ range. If we could get others to commit for half of this, I would bet the program would have a much stronger financial footing.

I also got my brother to start gifting again. If SMU were smart they would show him some attention because he is single and loaded!

From the looks of your opinions you must be related or friends with a player. Either that or you just enjoy throwing so much time and energy into this train that can't seem to stay on track.

Regardless, those who support the ponies no matter what have every right to "whine" once in a while. It is painful to watch at times.

Silencing a man does change the truth

Can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. Don't be guilty of saying peace, peace when there is no peace. The football situation at SMU must be changed. Patiently standing by while the program dies is not true loyalty. Go ahead, run off the critics and see how few people will be left when someone pulls the plug. The best posts on this board come from insightful, informed analysts who know when to be tolerant of a rebuilding program, and when to shout that the emperor has no clothes (and not many wins either). Shouting down those who disagree with you doesn't change any minds, and it won't silence this board either.

On the other hand, cutting off support (financial, emotional, etc.) does the program no good. Would you abandon a kid who doesn't do well in school? Of course not - you do everything possible to help the kid improve. This team is a group of young players who are learning how to win - if we could snap our collective fingers and do it overnight, we would. We can't abandon our guys when they need us. They're busting their tails for us, and we need to stand with them. They're OUR team. Abandoning the team doesn't make it better - support does.

Money matters

Money is the root of the problem at SMU. Div. 1-A athletics is running a deficit that the school can't afford. Sure, keep giving to the cause, but get value for your dollar. The players are not the problem and always deserve support, even though some do not perform as well as needed. Better coaching can remedy some of that. Kenny Hatfield just proved that to us didn't he.
