After the band played the fight song, they including alumn, ran to the student section like they always do. Well, one of the UTEP players thought it was funny to just get in the way of an alumni. He was so big he knocked the poor guy to the ground. It was humiliating and ridiculous. The alumni tried to report it but the coaching staff argued that it was the sideline and players have a right to be there. I felt so bad. Alumn come back to support the school not be assaulted!

That's shameful. That's like the Georgia Tech fans and players who assaulted celebrating Maryland fans after the Terps won in Atlanta. No class.

He seemed fine immediately after the incident. He seemed to be making a pretty big deal about something that didn't seem to affect him that much. If you ask me, everything is up to interpretation (it's probably true that the guy overreacted by hitting him and may have legally constituted assault and/or battery, but the player probably thought that he'd been run into on purpose which could also be considered battery). Given the band alum's seemingly good condition, it seemed a little overblown (and this is coming from a band alum).
