This weekend is going to be a blast. The 1989 Mustangs will be back on campus to give our team a little inspiration. Meet us at the BBQ on the BLVD. before the game and let's talk about old times and new times. Let's root these Mustangs to VICTORY! If I get a chance to talk to them I am going to get all fired up and demand a freakin' WIN for all of us!!

I think the 1989 team is the most inspiring squad ever fielded at SMU. Let them talk to the team before kickoff and watch the reaction. This is better than 'Rudy." I want their autographs.

Every good SMU fan should have something - a helmet, a football, a poster - and a pen. This is an amazing group of young men who will be back on campus this weekend.
I heard that the BBQ for that class is on the practice fields, not The Boulevard. Is that true?
Can you imagine the damage these boys will do at some of the local watering holes after the game?

Welcome back, fellas. I've never felt more for a team than I did for that 1989 group - they were MY Mustangs, and they gave more for OUR school than any team I've ever seen. When that team lost, I lost with the team. And oh, when they won .... well, the memory's a little foggy from those post-game celebrations.
Team of 1989: for what you did for SMU, I rank you guys up there with all of the All-America players who have played for the Ponies. Can't wait to shake some hands with you guys.
