This hurts

I want more than anything for the Ponies to win.

The things that bothered me the most:
- One-arm tackles (that Moats barely noticed)
- Dropped passes
- Failure by perimeter defenders to keep containment, which at least would have forced Moats back inside toward other defensive players
- Penalties

On the other hand, I did like the wrinkle of Romo on the outside, although the kinks clearly need to be worked out. I watched the LaTech bench when he went in, and the LaTech coaches were running around like they were on fire. Once they figured out that Romo was going to touch the ball in some way on just about every play, they were able to adjust. If he's going to be out there in multiple roles like that, he has to be used sporadically - make the defense worry about him and then use him just some of the time. Interesting idea, though.

I agree. There are a lot of folks here who didn't like it, but wrinkles like that and having Rushbrook throw the ball against San Jose cause opponents to step back and try to make adjustments on the fly. It might win a game, it might not, but it gives the other team more to think about. With our record as it is, we need to pull out all the stops to try to get wins. Starting at Fresno State!
