I love this...

Three weeks ago when the Mustangs defeated SJSU everyone was loving Bennett and was saying he was bringing in the talent..

Now after losing to Nationally Ranked Boise State, A Rice team who played very good againist TEXAS, And a LA Tech team who defeated prevouisly ranked Fresno State...

Everyone wants him gone. Its hilarous to me.

Keep up the great work Bennett! I atleast believe in you

Please re-read my post. Bennett was not mentioned. What SMU and Bennett need is to play by the same rules as EVERYONE else.

Thank you Bus. It is refreshing that a few posters on this board understand the real issue. The issue is not coaching. The issue is SMU'S athletic policies do give SMU a chance to compete. Whether the Coach is Bennett, Cavan, or even Bob Stoops, it does not matter. When restrictions are in place that prevent the coaches from getting players at SMU, the Xs and Os do not mean crap. Why do the top teams win year in and year out? Talent.

I don't think there is any question but that Bennett, if operating under the same rules he had at K-State, would have concentrated heavily on JUCO players to avoid having so many 1st and 2nd year players in the 2-deep.

I agree the "administration" at SMU makes it dificult for any coach to come in here and build a program quickly...so I guess it's only fair to give Bennett his full 5 yrs to see if he can turn this thing around with H.S. recruits. I would be very disappointed if that same "administration" ran Bennett off without allowing him to compete with his own (matured) recruits.

BUS I was not talking about your post. I didnt even read your post. I was talking about the post such as "Who would you get rid of first", "List of REALISTIC Coaches that Could Replace Bennett", "Hire Switzer at any cost", "Having left again at halftime..."

We have several post saying we should get rid of Bennett or Copeland and its just bull crap cause 3 weeks ago these same people were saying they were seeing improvement

It's not that I'm calling for Bennett's head, it's just I need SOMETHING to change...I saw fans leave last night that hadn't missed any part of a home game in 6 YEARS.
I just can't watch this stuff anymore. It's starting to affect me, and definatly affect the band. It's hard to have to watch this go on.
And I don't think it's the players, cuz there's some definate talent there. I believe it's the coaching, cuz that's what makes talent play well. PS, PICK A FREAKING QUARTERBACK AND STICK WITH HIM!

Pardon me if I appear stupid. But could someone please explain to me just what the SMU administration is doing that is making it difficult for Bennett? I thought that most if not all the admission restrictions had been removed. I thought that the administration had made a "Committment". Where am I missing it?
