season in SMU footbal history. How would you have like to have been a season ticket holder / Mustang Clubber / "vard hangn' dude in 1960? In Bill Meek's 4th sesson, the Ponies went 0-9-1, scored a TOTAL of 31 points ALL year, and the tie was a 0-0 slug fest v. A&M.....talk about some outrage on Ponyfans.com.....somehow, Meek got to hang around for one more season until Fry showed up in 1962. And by the way, it was not until Fry's 5th season that he had a winning record (1965, 8-3 Cotton Bowl). Meyer did NOT win until his 5th season, an 8-4 Holiday Bowl resurection. The Post DP days were certainly painful with back to back 1-10 efforts

I guess I have decided to "back off", realize that this is only a game, I have wonderful memories of my SMU days, love the Ponies, we have a GREAT stadium...new conference in '05-06..things WILL get better, and if they don't, so what, life goes on....my happiness does not depend on Pony football success, trust me, but.....it would be freakin' nice to have something positive to cheer about every 5 or 6 years, I don't ask for much....Long Live Jerry Mays.

I was there in the other bad old days too

The other losing season didn't feel as bad as these have been. Don't ask me why, but things were slightly different then. This is the pits!
