Since he didn't use his redshirt, why isn't he getting more playing time in the secondary? I believe he played the last series or so in the La Tech game, but why not get him some experience? He can't get burned any worse than the toastmasters we have now! Lindley might actually be the only DB that will turn and look for the FRICKN' ball!

it's ashame to waste a year to play freakin' special teams! if nothin' changes he needs to get outta there. hate to see a good talent waste. he could've been getting major experience, at least in the nickle packages!!!

Relax - lots of freshmen (even very talented freshmen) sit out their first year entirely as redshirts or get their feet wet slowly, working in on special teams and in spot duty with the regular offense/defense. The coaches think the world of Lindley's talent, but I would think they're trying not to throw too much at him too fast. In a perfect world, he'd be redshirting anyway. Let him come along ... he's going to be a good one (in my opinion).

The DMN said yesterday he's competing for a starting job. He's not being wasted - they're bringing him along at a pace that doesn't overwhelm him. If he's competing for the starting job, it's clear what the coaches think of him. I think they're right to err on the side of caution with freshmen, especially with freshman DBs, who can make one little mistake and see a WR standing in the end zone. Confidence is vital, especially for DBs.
