So play with it however you want to. But I seriously doubt this would have happened on the old Mustangmaniacs site.
Although, if it was the ridiculous Barry Switzer thread I think it was, I have no problem with that mindless drivel being removed. You can ban those silly posters too if you want, they need to go back to reading the paper and listening to the Ticket rather than wasting our time here.

True, it was a sad day when that last bastion of free thought, without registration or censorship, went the way of the dinosaur. Yes, I sometimes miss it too.

I just miss Paul Hugg. I have no idea what's going on in the frats anymore.

I don't remember anything being insidious in the Burns thread. Talk about alternative coaches has been going on for weeks.

The Switzer thread was funny, more or less - I enjoyed reading it. In the thread that was deleted this morning, there were some pretty personal things being said about people within the athletic department, and about other posters. Nobody's shutting off free speech/thought here, they just seem (to me, anyway), to be trying to retain the integrity that made this site great in the first place. Criticism and compliments alike have appeared here, and never been removed, as far as I know. But the stuff written this morning was way over the line, and I commend the webguys for removing it.

From the webmaster:
"Personal shots that have no relevance to the athletic programs at SMU will be removed, and the posters will be subject to suspension or banning from the site."
Sounds like a challenge! What a badge of honor for the first poster to get permanently banned! Questions, though. Is there gonna be an appeals process? What are the guidelines for length of suspension? Do these new rules apply to "official" posters, or actual, butts in seats posters?

Hey jt, aren't you a little old to be going through your rebellious stage? The ole "don't trust anyone over 30" bit and down with "fascist pigs" trying to control our lives and thoughts bit.

For the record, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the ones who wrote things this morning that led to all this, and for that I want to apologize. I said somethings to other posters that I shouldn't have said, and I regret having done that. I usually stick to talking about the Ponies all the time (just ask my wife) and I got sidetracked. If what I said offended any PonyFans, including those at whom my comments were directed, I'm sorry. Won't happen again. This is a terrific site -- the only place to get constant news and discussion about the Mustangs -- and I regret my role in today's chaos.
With that said .... GO PONIES! Beat the hell out of Fresno State!

Some people were advocating giving Coach Bennett a raise (GIASFC & SMU ), and I responded strongly in the negative . Posters like Stallion & pk love to take shots at new posters, but cry to the moderators when people defend themselves.
