Is anybody watching this?

Hawaii is losing to Boise State, 69-3, with just over 2 minutes left. QB Timmy Chang is within 20 or 30 yards of Ty Detmer's all-time NCAA passing yards record. I think Hawaii coach June Jones is wrong to have Chang in the game. UH plays at home next week -- get him out of this game and let him set the record at home in a game that's not already decided, especially by such a huge margin. If he gets it in Boise, how can he enjoy it?

And what if Chang suffered a season-ending (and therefore career-ending) injury?

I hope Boise runs out the clock, because I'm not sure Jones would pull Chang, which he should. That kid is an amazing quarterback, and deserves to set the record in a better scenario than this.

Thank goodness - Jones pulled Chang with 14 yards to go, so he gets to set the mark next week in Honolulu against Louisiana Tech .... as he should.

For the record, Chang did set the all-time career mark for interceptions thrown. But that's partially a result of the system in which he plays. He's a terrific QB.
