We gave up 23 first downs, but we managed 17 ourselves.
235 passing yards. 356 total yards - not great, but not awful.
Four turnovers (two fumbles, two picks) - argh.
How did Fresno not have a single punt return?
Romo: 11 rushes for 71 yards (6.5 per). Not bad.
How about Bobby Chase! 5 catches for 108 yards. There's a dude who's getting better every week. I hear he stays after practice every day - some folks might want to follow his lead.
The defense baffles me. I know we have been obliterated by injuries at LB, but .... wow.

we don't have enough defensive depth and the loss of Carrington and Lee was bigger than anyone could have imagined. Sure hope they can both come back next year. I'm not able to watch the gmes, but from what the radio guys say, our fundamentals (tackling) appear to be poor as well. Isn't that mostly just desire? Are too many guys losing their hearts/guts? It's easy for that to happen when you are playing for a 1-7 team that can't score.

It might also be the fact that we don't have a team full of D1 talent. Probably the biggest let down this year has been at RB. This has to be the worst production by our RB's since football came back from the death penalty.

I'd love to know what our record would be if our defenders wrap up. Every time. I'm not saying we'd be 8-0, because there have been times when we're making our tackles 10 yards (or more) downfield. But just for a second, if we hadn't tried a single arm tackle this year and wrapped up .... I bet we'd have 3-4 wins. I don't know if it's desire, I don't know if it's conditioning, I don't know if it's strength, I don't know if it's understanding of HOW to tackle ....
Our offense didn't score yesterday, but that was not against a bad team. Yes, Fresno was 0-3 in the WAC this year, but that's also the same Fresno team that went into Manhattan and pounded Kansas State. They have very good athletes. I think we all knew we'd lose that game, and those of us who were really honest with ourselves figured there was a chance we might be on the losing end of a lopsided score. I wish I'd gotten a chance to see Bobby Chase play - sounds like he had a good game.
Go Mustangs! Beat TU!

Yes..sadly we are not surprised when we lose any more..indeed, we expect it ! The saddest fact is that we have become accustomed to losing by 42-0 scores. What on earth has happened to the once proud Mustang?

This is what happened --
The best stop of all: On the game's final possession, Fresno State used 11 little-used reserves to stop SMU four straight times at the 1-yard line. Perfection was secured
