...what is all this about bartenders and wrist bands? Can you buy drinks? Buy access to "special tents"? What's the deal....?? PS: When does the parade start and what is the route??

The bartenders are for the student in the north section. Alumni can drink IF your beverage is in a plastic cup.

There are no outright sales of anything. Except Tee shirts by the young republicans.

Parade starts at 11:30 I think and will go up and down Bishop.

The parade this week for homecoming (i believe) will start up behind Dallas Hall, go south on Hillcrest, then East on MockingBird (or maybe through that church parking lot), then up Bishop. I'm pretty sure this is what happened last year. There will be the band, floats, all that stuff.

Mustang Sally:

If the parade's going to take that route, does that mean I should NOT just come across Mockingbird from Love field? I guess I should go up & over on Walnut Hill then.

Go ahead and use Mockingbird to Preston, then go south on Preston to Beverly Drive (the next traffic signal) then east on Beverly until Abbott (lovely scenic route...big houses etc.) then north on Abbott which becomes Bishop Boulevard as it crosses Mockingbird. You can park on Abbott before you get to Mockingbird and walk the rest of the way to the campus.
