Wide receiver prospect

Let me start by saying that I do not llike to get involved in listing prospects for recruiting. I feel the caoches have a much better pipeline than I do and leave that area of work to them. However, I saw an article in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette this morning that caught my eye and thought I would throw out a name for any of you out there with access to the recruiting sites to comment on.

Wide receiver Charles Hayes of Little Rock Fair High School. 6'2" 185 lbs. and a 4.48 40. Numbers look good and he apparently has had some excellent receiving games. He is not getting a lot of attention. Arkansas has told him they are shy on scholies for wide outs this year, but he really wants to go there. He is not getting any other Divsion I contact to speak of. That would usually indicate that he is not a top notch receiver, but perhaps an early look from us would not hurt since tall fast wide outs are not something we have in great supply.

Any comments from those that can look up more on him might be interesting to hear about. As I said I do not make a habit of promoting prospects, but for what it is worth I did point out a young man by the name of Peyton Hillis from Conway Arkansas to our coaching staff long before he became a top notch recruit so maybe just maybe there could be someone out there that we could snag before the big boys get them.

he hasn't made it into the Rivals or Insiders Database yet but he does have Division 1-A height and speed if accurate. Interesting. 6-2 WRs who run 4.4s and are productive is exactly what we should be looking for.

I have not seen him. He could very well be one of those "rounding" situations. Such as rounding up to 6'2" from 5'10", and 4.48 is rounded down from 5 flat. But, like you say, someone near that size and speed should be looked at very closely, and early since he sounds very anxious to be locked in with a Division I team.

Mrydel, copy what you wrote above and e-mail it to the coaches...don't hold your breath hoping that they will come looking for prospects on this board.
