This guy's commitment is huge for The Program. I don't know about him personally, but when you count Richard Bartel (who's not technically a scholarship -- the Cincinnati Reds are paying his tuition), we have five scholarship-level QBs coming back next year. Steve Spurrier has often said that you need AT LEAST four scholarship QBs, and preferably five, on a roster at all times. Gives a team depth and forces competition, making them work harder and play better. This is the first time I can remember having five scholarship-level QBs at The Hilltop. Nothing but good can come from Gilray's signing. Regardless of who plays next year -- Page, Luker, Bartel, Nixon or Gilray -- this is the best crop of passers we've had in many many years.

Coach Kueck plans on red-shirting Donnie for his freshman year. But watching Fresno and the "coverage" sacks we had, I wonder about not playing the taller Bartel. It seemed like Page couldn't see his receivers over the line.
