Now that Wanstadt has resigned, is Spurrier the natural choice for the Dolphins?

He's certainly going to have his name at or near the top of most lists, but I doubt he'd take another hit to his reputation when he realizes he has one good receiver (Chambers), one receiver who should be good (Booker) and one receiver who could be good again (Boston) .... and no running backs and no quarterbacks.

I don't know. I just don't see it.

Apparently Spurrier is not among mentioned candidates and he himself said the Dolphins need someone who has been in the league for 10 or so years. Other candidates I read (Palm Beach Post article) were Bob Stoops, Nick Saban, Jim Tressel, Pete Carroll, and some current NFL assistants. As a native South Floridian and Dolfan, I hope they get someone decent and return Miami to its winning ways. Miami is very capable of selling out that stadium and has tons of fans (unlike the Marlins for example), they just need to get off to a solid start every year.

Spurrier told the Washington Post he did not want the Dolphins job today.
