Welcome to the site, UTEPD --
Coach Price has done a heck of a job out there. Congratulations on a terrific season.
Here's hoping we can put a little hitch in that smooth ride! I hope SMU wins by .... at least 1. Beyond that, I don't care if it's 1 point or 100.

Welcome to Ponyfans.
UTEP and SMU will be valuable additions to CUSA. I am happy that the Miners will be on SMU's schedule for years to come.
Also, I looked at your new football facilities and I was impressed with UTEP's investment in the program.

UTEPDallas,
Hope to see you at Moody this year when the Miners play the Ponies. Should be a great game.
An UTEP musical question

Q: Do you know what you get when you drop a piano down a mine shaft?
A: "A-Flat" minor. Yuk, yuk.
One good thing about UTEP is that they fill their home stadium better than most other schools in the WAC or CUSA. With a bowl invitation on the line, UTEP will be double tough at home. If they have a good pasing attack, SMU could be in trouble. But the ponies have found some offense, so this could be interesting. Play ball!.

So how good is Jordan Palmer? We all know he's Carson's brother, and he's built like Yao Ming with an arm that should have a scope on it, but is he a solid quarterback yet, or just a huge guy with all the tools who still is developing? He worries me a little.
Their linebacker, Rodriguez, is a monster.

The only way we win this is to come out swinging with everything we've got and put up a lot of points!!
If we do...
SMU 31
UTEP 30
COME ON MUSTANGS!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! BEAT UTEP!!
As an added incentive, just think how you'll be on NATIONAL TV when Sportscenter carries the highlights of the Mustang victory over #24!!

As I leave Dallas at which Burger King will you be working? I'm sorry, but we ought to at least try and smack these guys a little bit.

A couple of years ago there was a former UTEP football player who was the manager at the IHOP on Mockingbird. He was a cool guy.

BRStang is right! The ONLY way we beat these guys is to come out smoking and not let up! Hesitant play calling will be our downfall..at ANY point in the game!

Re: gostangs' comment about the running game .... Harold Jackson is tiny, but that dude is a terrific running back. Very fast and elusive, and very good hands out of the backfield. The LBs and safeties have a big day in front of them.

Good eye, Corso. I've been to three UTEP games this year (wife, co-workers .... don't get me started) and he's the best little RB I've seen in forever. He looks like he'd get snapped in two on a good tackle, but I haven't seen him take a really hard hit all year. He's the engine that makes the UTEP offense go.

Thanks guys for welcoming here. I'm good friends with 2 SMU alumni and of all of UTEP's conference mates, SMU is my favorite one. My experience with most SMU fans at the games have been good and you guys have always showed class (unlike some fans at a school in Fort Worth).
