For luck, a repeat from last week....
We're with you guys. This Saturday, forget the crowd, forget the W-L record, forget the media-- just go play for yourself. Leave everything on the field & go out in style!
Ignore the odd, kick'em

Forgetabout being a 21 point underdog to UTEP. Those are just gamblers odds designed to encourage betting and are based on whose team is most likely to make a wager on the game. The Vegas handicap has nothing to do with how good is UTEP or SMU. Besides, when SMU has won this year it has been considered an upset. Might as well end the season with another upset and beat a bowl bound team while we're at it.

Remember: "Beer for My Horses" by Toby Keith and Willie Nelson
Well a man come on the 6 o’clock news
Said somebody’s been shot, somebody’s been abused
Somebody blew up a building
Somebody stole a car
Somebody got away
Somebody didn’t get too far yeah
They didn’t get too far
Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street for all the people to see that
Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses
We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
We’ve got too much corruption, and crime in the streets
It’s time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send ’em all to their maker and he’ll settle ’em down
You can bet he’ll set ’em down ’cause
Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses
Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

Patton: Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
Patton: Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the [deleted]. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose.

I drove through campus a few minutes ago, and saw several players heading into the stadium -- I guess the flight's leaving soon. Saw Martin Guidry, Bryan Turner, Devin Lowery and Cedrick Dorsey (as well as some others I'm afraid I don't recognize without a jersey and helmet), and they already look like they have their game faces on.
Give 'em hell, Ponies!

And remember, the point spread is based on where the Vegas folks think the money will spread out right, not an actual assessment of any differences in talent. Right now, UTEP is a sexy pick because of their record and because of the rebirth of Mike Price. If the Ponies play well, we CAN and WILL beat the Miners!
