He missed the obvious winner. The University of Akron with Zippy the Kangaroo on the helmet!

I like the Mustang helmet they show, but this year's version (with the outline) is even better!

And UT's logo is cool, but anything with that color should be excluded from any "best" list!

Sure looked better in the olden days with red helmets, and white Mustang decals.

Looks like Hayden Fry knew what he was doing designing snazzy uniforms for #7 SMU, and #8 Iowa with ideas from Hayden's old Baylor team, and the Pittsburg Steelers. :) Even the NT Eagle decals he had designed after we canned him were a lot better looking than the script North Texas they have now.

I am rather partial to the Fry helmet. I still hate the Ohio State rip-off helmet that took its place.

Pittsburgh is spelled with an "h". Only the tiny town of Pittsburg, Tx does not include the h.

Actually, there's a Pittsburg State in Kansas.

Pittsburg State is home to the mighty Gorillas. Currently ranked #1 in Division II and alma mater of Dennis Franchione and my dad. Their helmets say Pitt and though they have a good logo of "Gus the Gorilla" it does not appear on the helmets. Also, they played NW Missouri State on 11/06 at Arowhead before 25K+ to see 2 of the top Division II schools play.

Hey, I grew up in east Texas about 30 miles south of Pittsburg.
