Lou Holtz: Where to next?

Postby MrMustang1965 » Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:42 pm

Quote from Lou Holtz following announcement of Spurrier going to SC:

``I don't know where I'm going to go. I don't know what I'm going to do. I have faith in the Lord to let him lead me. As long as my family's with me, everything else will be OK,'' Holtz said. ``But I do feel confident leaving here that the football program is on a firm foundation.''

We've got Phil Bennett. And I have confidence in him. But I bet a certain school in Waco, Texas might be interested in brother Holtz! Big XII school and a chance to turn things around for the Bears. Think about it. And the money is there, too.

I doubt there's enough money on earth to get him to Baylor (and I don't think they've given up on Coach Morriss yet, nor should they). If Slobberin' Lou ever coaches again, I would think it would be a big-time program with a huge national profile.

How about Holtz in Austin?

You must not be talking to the same Baylor alums that I'm talking to...they're so p.o.'ed at Morris it's not even funny! And they're willing to pony up (no pun intended) as much dinero as possible to get a 'big name' coach in Waco to get their program going in the right direction in the Big XII.

Maybe Lou could bring us championships like he brought Arkansas all of those SWC championships. Uh oh wait- He never won a championship at Arkansas. Let Lou go retire. He was a great game day coach but not a very good person according to many I have known who played or worked for him. Watch Spurrier improve USC immediately.[/i]
