Effect on recruiting

IF this is true, and it hasn't been confirmed yet by the school, what does this mean for the recruiting class? We have the makings of what looks like a great class, and I hope this doesn't make them jump ship. We need these guys, this caliber of guys - especially all these linemen.

Any word on reactions from recruits?

When Donnie G. first stepped on campus to see his sister graduate from high school at Moody Coliseum, he said under his breath - "I want to go [to school] here". Two weeks later he was asked if he wanted to play football there. This is before he met Coach Cavan.

His allegiance is with the school. He likes Coach Cavan, but he is still on board with SMU.

Great to hear PPP.

I would assume that anyone coming to play for SMU is coming for the school, its reputation, its academics, what a degree from SMU can mean to their career, and maybe to be a part of what is shaping up to be a rebirth of the program.

Perhaps they were interested in learning from a position coach or playing in front of a hometown crowd. But if someone wanted to play for a great coach, I don't think SMU would have been there choice.

That may change now however -- depending on how well we do with this search.
