How does Utah 'represent' the mid-tier when BCS won't give them any respect. If I were the Utes, I'd rather get my [deleted] whipped by CAL than playing PITT...

Personally I would have preferred a UT-Utah matchup. But, UTAH can be Pitt. If they do it might bode well for future mid-majors to get invites.

I agree that the Ute's deserved a higher ranked opponent. The problem is the automatic bid for the Big East. Cal should have gone to the Rose Bowl and, as much as I don't like them, Texas to Fiesta to oppose Utah.

I bet that $17 million spends just as well regardless of who Utah plays. The game at this stage is secondary. They will not get the #1 ranking so just enjoy the bucks. I think the BEST game will still be Louisville/Boise.
