Diamond Girl/RECRUITS - I am a materialistic facile person!!

Postby that's great raplh » Mon Dec 13, 2004 6:25 pm

I submit to your sesquipedalian invectives and admit that I am materialistic. But I don't even know what facile is… You must to admit we all are materialistic to degree. I earn a living to support my family - do you work for free?

As for my trophy wife - she was accepted at Princeton, Harvard and Yale for undergrad.

Boo. Ya. Ka. Shaw.

I will also admit that I spent a lot of time at my frat house. Do you still have SMU friends? I see over 20 of my frat brothers every year, we live all over the country and graduated 10 years ago. We supported SMU football then, and we still do now. We are the guys who have luxury boxes and donate to the team. Every Saturday in the fall, we live and die by what happens to the Team.

In that regard, we have common ground. Either way - the different experiences that you and I had at SMU enabled both of us to achieve our goals and dreams. A Cambridge Ph.D. is mighty impressive. And guess what? Just like our teams, it makes me prouder to have attended SMU. I received an MBA from the # 1 Wall Street Journal ranked school.

RECRUITS - LISTEN UP - SMU is awesome. Like Lindsay Lohan is your girlfriend kind of awesome.

THE GIRLS ARE HOT - I live in NYC and I have been around the world from Amsterdam to Copenhagen, from Buenos Aires to Rio, from Bangkok to Tokyo - and SMU girls are among the finest.

FOOTBALL - Coach Bennett is a great Coach. He is gonna bring titles to SMU. The first team to do this will get more media exposure than any other team in Texas. We are talking about making real history! Opportunities to do this in your lifetime are few and far between and if SMU gives you a shot to be part of that, you better think twice before you turn it down. You will take it with you for the rest of your life and be able to do whatever it is you dream about doing. Whether it is play in the NFL or become a Veterinarian, you will be able to make it happen because of what you learned, who you met and what you accomplished at SMU.

I have lived in some big cities and Dallas is a great one. It is a fantastic place to spend the 18 to 22 stretch of your life. The campus is beautiful and ready to offer that authentic collegiate experience. By that I mean, when you set foot on the campus grounds it feels like a university is supposed to feel. Most importantly, the Stadium is a temple to the game. A stunning and symbolic open horseshoe with a perfect pitch…it does not get any better.

Amen.

Thank you for this more well-thought out, persuasive argument. I hope the recruits are able to read it.

Raplh (you need to work on your spelling and stop watching the Simpson's so much). Was it in Amsterdam where you needed the krankenwagen?

Back from Belize give me a shout.
