This has got to be the man for the job. Anyone who doubts his charisma (i.e. his ability to charm recruits, alums, media, etc.) need only re-visit Media Day before the Super Bowl in which he won the MVP award. Some idiot reporter actually asked him "how long have you been a black quarterback?"

I guess he was asking how long he'd faced the racial stigma that went along with African-Americans playing the position in the NFL, but it came across as one of the most moronic questions in the history of sportswriting. Williams easily could have flown off the handle and berated the reporter for his ignorance, but instead handled the whole scene with class and grace. That, coupled with the tremendous job he's done at Grambling (especially considering the legacy left behind by former coach Eddie Robinson) indicate to me that he'd be a perfect candidate for the SMU coaching position.
