Is anyone going anywhere to watch the Rose Bowl? There'd be nothing better than to get together and root for Michigan.

I would pull for Saddam Hussein, over those crooked longhorns!
Did anyone notice how they are BACK on the front page, now that it doesn't have anything to do with a FELONY!

Not a chance. T-sips may be arch-enemies in state, but to those of us Texans who live on the Left Coast, they are a welcome taste of home. I have seen more Texas license plates just down in OC (Disneyland, probably...people making a week of it) than ever.

So bring it on. This Mustang is happy as ever to see anybody Texan this side of the Rockies. Texas Tech plays down in San Diego (for anybody who cares, Cal got screwed. They should be playing in the Rose Bowl by tradition...not U.T.), and I am excited about a Texas win (probably not, but hey, I'm hopeful) there as well.

Go 'Horns. Break records and leave an unforgettable impression on Rose Bowl fans in a big way.

Here's hoping Braylon Edwards (Michigan WR) scores 6 TDs in a Wolverine ROUT!

I've never counted myself as one who hates the horns. In fact, I grew up in Dallas following UT football before deciding to attend SMU (I did follow Doc Hayes' SMU hoops pretty closely in those years) and except when SMU was going head-to-head against UT, I've generally pulled for the horns to do well. When Texas excels, I think it actually benefits SMU. How? I think there is a recruiting trickle down effect. If Texas can recruit more high profile kids outside of Texas, it leaves more talented Texas high schoolers for everyone else to go after. That doesn't mean we are going to steal anyone away from OU, but at some point, we might get a Chris Hall type who decides to stay home rather than leave town. Texas remains a very high choice for an awful lot of Texas H.S players and when they pass on those guys, it opens doors for the rest of us.

As for the Rose Bowl, this will be tough. Mrs CP is a Michigan native and all my in-laws are "go blue" fans. Of course, Mrs CP went to Mich St, so I guess that clears me to pull for the horns...and have some fun with the in-laws if UT wins. Ultimately, I don't really care who wins that one.

Two Rows on Greenville Ave. @ Southwestern Blvd. isn't too bad. Of course, they *do* have a sign in the window that says "Official Big XII Viewing Headquarters". Might be fun to go over there and watch the Teasips cry after the Wolverines stomp the hell out of 'em!

BTW I'm sitting here scratching my [deleted] trying to recall if Michigan and UT have ever played before- I can't remember a game in my lifetime. It probably is one of the few matchups between Top 5 programs (in historical victories) which has been rarely played. For that reason alone it should be fun. I bet it gets huge ratings too.

Just to clarify.. it is the very first time that Texas and Michigan have ever played football. That's why it's a pretty cool deal. Can't wait to see it! Have a great New Year's Ponyfans..

If SMU and UT were still in the SWC, I'd probably root for UT. But seeing as how they dumped us to move on to greener pastures, I hope they get slaughtered. "Hail to the Victors Valient". Go maize and blue.
