I saw Cal beat USM and knew they were vulnerable to Tech's passing game. The PAC 10 is over rated, but USC is a good team and will give OU trouble. But I am picking the sooners to win.

The PAC-10 was very weak this year. Other than USC, none of the schools showed much except Cal. There is a lot of programs rebuilding out there. Fresno, Utah and Boise all would have done well in the PAC-10 this year. This brings up my annual BCS solution. Why not tie certain conferences together and the worst team in a BCS conference drops down and the best team in the non-BCS moves up. There are five non-BCS conferences, WAC, MAC, CUSA, SBC, MWC. There are six major conferences. So for example PAC-10 would be hooked to the WAC. Big XII to MWC. Big X to the MAC. BE or SEC to CUSA. ACC to Sun Belt.
So this year. Boise would move up Washington moves to the WAC. Baylor moves down and Utah moves up. Toledo moves up and Penn State moves down. Syracuse moves down and Louisville moves up. And lastly, UNT moves up, and Duke moves down. If you wanted to refine it more you could require that the team could not move up unless it won its bowl game.

by that's great raplh
don't knock Cal - how could they come and play their best after getting shafted out of the Rose Bowl. The Rose Bowl is the Holy Grail of Big 10 and Pac 10 football. Texas tech is from Lubbock (another dirthole).

Cal's top two recievers were out, one of whom was the favorite target of Rodges. They were playing recievers with very little experience and timing between the QB and the recievers is especially important in Tedfords offense. That and the fact that they did not show up to play. If you watch the USC-Cal game, it is very evident that they are legit.

Seems to me I remember a little school from the Park Cities, ranked #5 in the nation with a 10-1 record who had to submit themselves to the lowly Sun Bowl to play some rag [deleted] school from Alabama....poor Ponies were not "into it", much like Cal....final Alabama 28 SMU 7..it happens....Cal had a GREAT team this year!!

Do no for sure, but I heard SMU spent the night before the Sun Bowl getting their minds right for the game...at a donkey show or two in Juarez. Wonder if the Bears did the Tijuana round trip on game eve?

..I still "laugh" about the FACT that SMU could not "get up" for Alabama..was the Bear still there? Poor poor Ponies.....wonder why we did not get a better Bowl Bid that year? 10-1...#5.....HHmmmmmm??
