Halftime score:

USC 38
OU 10

Turnovers by Oklahoma critical to the mid-point score.

And to think that it was OU 7 USC 0 after OU scored rather easily on their opening drive.

OU plays like the Aggies

Bowl game teams occasionally fall apart after layoffs and committ multiple turnovers in a losing cause. A&M blew the cotton bowl like OU has blown the organe bowl. USC is #1, and OU has lost two years in a row in the title game. OU may have Texas' number, but Stoops is beginning to have a post-seaoss problem.

Yeah, when he's playing the #1 team in the country. There's no great embarrassment in that.
At least OU's getting beaten by a great team. The Tennessee team that spanked A&M barely beat Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

Some of the pre-game 'barking' & bad-mouthing (about Leinart) by the OU defense may have motivated the USC offense...

Do you really think the game would be vastly different if they'd remained silent?
I don't.

WHo knows what motivates? I do know how pi$$ed off coaches get when players mouth off before a game-- so there may be something to it.

Stoops was pi**ed about the blown coverage, especially when it was designed to be "safe" coverage. Add turnovers and OU was out of it.

Does this mean the Big12 was overrated?

OU once again proves how bias the BSC, err, BCS is towards the Big 12. Once again an overrated Big 12 team gets the opportunity to be embarrassed on national TV. Why the BSC doesn't adjust is computer program is beyond logic. However, next year an overrated Big 12 team will once again be embarrassed on national TV at the expense of a more deserving team (this year at least the PAC 10 didn't get shafted. Auburn got the shaft this year). Interestingly, Pitt, because of a monopoly agreement, took the place of a far more deserving team (name 'em, Cal, Louisville, perhaps a BSU). The BSC is getting to be a little too boring. Pitiful teams playing in big bowls and overrated teams denying a qualified team an opportunity to play results in boring blowouts. The BSC should at least allow a minor bowl to be played at the same time as the National Championship game so viewers can see a good game instead of having to put up with a blowout.

However, at least for one night, the argument that the Big 12 is vastly superior to any onther conference is put to rest.

The scary thing is that the Trojans will only get better next year. 16 of their 22 starters were underclassmen. They might have a couple of defections to the NFL, but apparently Matt Leinart is leaning towards staying for another year. Wow. Can you imagine that USC team being even better next year??

Was it just me or did anyone else notice the amount of slipping by OU players? They seemed to have the wrong shoes for the surface - it would not have effected the outcome probably, but i thought it was unusual.
