CFN has us #103 (out of 119 teams) in 2005.

I'm not sure how to show the link, but it is:

Everything would be much better if we could just get out classifications like this, "The Bottom 19: These teams have some serious work to do". I'm not looking for a bowl; I just don't want to be at the bottom anymore.

Atleast we're in the blue where it says "Should have a better team" next season

Yes, CFN is cautiously optimistic about SMU. They don't expect us to be .500, but they do see some progress.

What was your prayer for last year and the year before?

You should pray to somebody else.

I wouldn't put too much stock in their rankings. They generally seem pretty bogus. For example, from their final rankings from this year:
89. Duke 2-9
90. North Texas 7-5
91. Washington 1-10
I'm not saying UNT is a top 25 team, but they're better than #90, and a whole lot better than both Duke and Washington. And there's no way Washington is better than 26 teams.

...."SHOCK THE WORLD"?????? That to me means 10-1, 9-2, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Top 20, league Champs.....that to me means "shock the world"..trust me....4-7, 5-6, 6-5 IS NOT shock the world......guys, if we win 4 games next year, I will be shocked, but not to many more will be....posts like this make me CRAZY!!!!!!! Who are you people...??

I'm looking for 4 or (maybe) 5 wins. 3 would be disappointing. 6 would be nirvana - and I think it would shock the college football world.

Some of you guys have no faith and half spirited fans

C'MON GUYS, get with the program and TRY to believe

I'm not making or losing any money, but I am optimistic that this will be a GOOD season for OUR MUSTANGS

YOU GOTTA BELIEVE

(for a better season) or do you guys just settle for anything????

Have you been around this program since 1989 and had to live thru the 1 and 2 win seasons and the countless blow-out losses that the team has had? Every year, we are asked to give more and more money to the athletic department and yet the team can't do much better than the first post-death penalty team could do back in 1989 - those players had heart!

I don't have any ill feelings for this program or it's past players i'm on board for the long haul now.Everything has to start somewhere and it just happens tobe my turn to get on board. I'm just trying to bring optimism to PONYFANS.Hey i'm not here to hurt or offend anyone's fellings but i'm going down or up with this program this day forth

HAVE A BLESSED DAY PONYFANS

I've followed SMU since I enrolled in January 1988 (actually the games didn't start until 1989). I've been an occasional member of the Mustang Club and have had 4 season tickets since 2000.
I'm generally optimistic. I think we can obtain a ranking in the 30's or 40's someday. And if we ever caught lightning-in-a-bottle, we could hit the Top 25. I just hope it's in my lifetime.
I'm also a Chicago Cubs fan, so I'm accustomed to frustration and disappointment.
