Just figured I would post the mkost updated rankings which place SMU at at a tie for 71st in the nation with our new CUSA rival Houston. Our average recruit is a 2.24 according to rivals, which I figure is about what we would ahve expected. The put us at a total of 21 recruits for the year so far, and hopfully we can get a big pickup in the last week or so of recruiting before Signing Day.

If you're team is ranked about #102 (SMU) and you bring in the #71 recruiting class, that's an upgrade.
If you're ranked #35 and you bring in the #71 recruiting class, that's disappointing.

UConn has been recruiting at about the #70-#90 level (according to the experts) the last few years. This year, the Huskies had a 7-4 record and a blowout win over Toledo in the Motor City Bowl.
If SMU is really at #70 (or so), that is good news. That would be very competitive in the C-USA West.

The problem is SMU's class is virtually complete. Most of the classes below @75 are less than half full and they will move up as the classes fill.

With only about a week to go, I would think it would be pretty scary to be less than half full. You are making the assumption that as they fill up it will be with highly rated players...are there that many left, and if so, would they go to the schools currently below 75?

Want an over/under on how many teams pass SMU by signing day? Fresno St is listed with 6 recruits and they will sign 24. They won't be top 100 players, but I guarantee they will be enough to pass the Ponies. Lots of teams in the same situation ranked below SMU. Do you know how Rivals scoring works?

I would guess we end up at 75-80. Not great by any stretch, but I would guess it would be REALLY disapointing for a toad to see how close that will be to the them considering the so called improvement to MWC and the relative recent histories of the programs.

No, but my best guess is that they bend over and pull it out of...
