USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow officially withdrew from consideration for the Southern Methodist University head-coaching position Sunday. He was one of three finalists for the position.
"I was very flattered they would call me, but there's still work to be done here at USC," Chow said.
SMU athletic director Jim Copeland previously worked at Utah, which is Chow's alma mater. Copeland fired coach Mike Cavan on Nov. 19 and aggressively pursued Chow, according to sources.
Vanderbilt, which is searching for a head coach, has also expressed interest in Chow.
