DMNs feature on Rice academicsno comments on this article? It basically confirmed what many feared, Rice appears to be much more academically "friendly" to athletes than SMU. They have kinesiology and sports managment programs and have for years. Rice? No wonder we are not competitive in football.
..and these majors have made Rice, what??...COMPETITIVE?? Have we not had success v. Rice over the last 15-20 years? But, you are right, this is what "we all have feared"....
actually I don't think we have had success against rice in the last 15 years. I do know that since I started at SMU in 97 I think we have only beaten them twice. Most of our losses to them have been rather large.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
Re:
So you consider staying within 34 points of Rice last year having success? Sure glad we got that touchdown against their 2nd string defense near the end. Rice has been significantly more competitive than SMU over the past decade plus too. Now what was your point?
Re:
Ok so you didn't "fear" being at competitive disadvantage to Rice and you don't dread losing badly to them now or in the future. Congratulations, I'm happy for you that it doesnt phase you. If you enjoy not giving a damn about SMU football, why respond in the first place bro? Nothing better to do?
..what's all the anger about, man? I think Dr. Phil comes on later, tune in, it might help....got to go, Rice is having a press conference to outline ALL their years of competitive D-1 football success...
no anger, it was just a question. On second thought, maybe I am angry about SMU apparently not doing what it takes to even compete with the lowly Rice Owls. We agree on the fact that Rice is no competitive juggernaut. Let us know what you learn in the press conference, maybe they'll update you on last years SMU-Rice football score. I'll let you know what Dr. Phil prescribes.
While sitting at the bar last night at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin in Houston, had an interesting conversation with some UT and Rice grads. According to these guys, a vast majority of the Rice football players, and jocks in general, are business majors at Rice. The B-School is considered somewhat "easy / cake", doesn't have a Cox-like rep, so many jockos gravitate in that direction.....not discounting your analysis, just some additional info. Long Live Dr. Barry.
every inch of the Rice Athletic program's academic performance was picked apart by the report published last year and most jocks are not in the business school. Just as the DMN article said they are in Kineseoly and another major- I believe about 41% were in Kineseology. In the future I would suggest reading the article before commenting.
Stallion..I would suggest removing that rather large corn cob that apparently is stuck up your back-side.....what an angry, bitter person you seem to be..I feel sorry for you, I really do...
Right, EastStang.....but, I am sure Stallion will tell you what an uninformed idiot you are, just a hunch.
