While killing time in an airport last weekend, I noticed that I could download not one but two different SMU logos. We all know the most recognizable one...but can someone tell me what the "Kick 'em Stangs" logo is?

Left over from the late 1980's when coming back from the death penalty. I would think you would have to agree that it is not very memorable.

Umm...I'm not familiar with that one. Can someone post it, just for reference?

The aforepictured 'stang was also used on a felt banner presented to the 1947 SWC Champs team members. It includes season results. Red with blue raised felt lettering. Approx. 20" x 32". I've seen it in some older-than-40s Rotundas, too.

That version of the Mustang mascot seems more like something from the 40s - 60s era. I've found several pinbacks and other memorabilia in my parents' belongings with that Mustang on it.

I always loved that scrawny, mean-ass Mustang.
Thanks for posting that decal, Plano.

I've always loved that logo, too. But in looking at it now, I can't help but start wondering how a tough, nasty Mustang gets malnourished. Put some meat on that Pony!
