Several SMU players made the Houston Chronicle's All-WAC team. Here they are:
First Team
DEFENSE
DL - Kevin Aldridge - Sr.
LB - Vic Viloria - Jr.
Second Team
DEFENSE
DB - Jonas Rutledge - Soph.
Fresno State placed the most players on the list.

Kevin Garrett got screwed again. He deserved All-WAC. You have to think that some of the plays Jonas made were possible in part because they were throwing away from Garrett - he commands that kind of respect.

How did #2 get left off any all-WAC team?

Hampton got left off of that list too.

Neither got shafted. Hampton is a victim of an otherwise anemic offense. ShanD just didn't have the numbers.
Hampton had less than 500 yards for the season. If the offense could have stayed on the field longer (especially early in the season) it might have been a different story.
ShanD made great yards per carry, but he was merely 6th in the league for total yards. The kid from Nevada had more than double ShanD's production. It's important to realize though that ShanD only got 1 carry in the first half of the year. In addition, he split a lot of time with Kincade the last few games too.
Next year, I hope you'll be seeing both of these guys heading up a bunch of All-whatever lists.
