Brad Kieschnick - new look?

Whenever I've seen Brad Kieschnick off the field, he's always had a Milwaukee Brewers hat on, because his brother Brooks played there. Brooks was waived Tuesday by the Brewers. Got a feeling we'll be seeing Brad with another MLB hat on, though. In today's game, a left-handed pitcher who goes 2-2/4.50 ERA in 74 relief appearances can find work, as can an outfielder who hit .286 with 8 home runs and 19 RBI in just 13 at-bats (as Brooks K did over the past two years). He did both, and I'm sure he'll get a job somewhere.

Just not with the Yankees, please.

I wouldn't worry about him. There are about 20 MLB teams that could use a pitcher like him. And for a National League team, he could save the manager a switch by hitting for himself. He'll land somewhere, I think.

Brooks Kieschnick has reached agreement on a minor-league deal with the Houston Astros, per ESPN.

Figured he'd get a job soon. He's got some talent, and pitching is so watered down these days -- he wasn't going to be unemployed long. And he won't be in the minors long, either. Frankly, I'm surprised he didn't get a major league deal -- with his arm and his bat, he gives his manager a lot of flexibility. And while I hate the Horns, he is an extension of the Mustang family, so I wish him well.
