A few years ago I studied the roster and was horrified to find only 8 players that weighed over 270. There in is the reason I have been asking for BIG MEN in recruiting.

After printing out ( www.smumustangs.com ) the current roster, what a difference.

 We now show 18 MEN that are over 270.
We have only one that is a Senior.
Seven Jr's
Seven Sophmores
Well, that leaves Three Freshmen

Go Mustangs.

Have we ever had that kind of size post-DP? Even in the days of Trey Bandy, Bill Holder, Austin Adami, etc.? Let's get those 18 up in the 300 range, and add about 8-10 more.

My number is 27 Big Men. 15 for the o-line or three deep and 12 for d-line or three deep.

I know, I have a Pie in the ski attitude but if you keep a good goal in mind you will eventually attain it.

Three deep with 5 OL redshirts, 4 DL redshirts. The bigger and uglier the better. Guys who when the Old Country Buffet manager sees them coming, bars the doors and windows.

i'm speaking from memory, but i think with holz, chiles and the other guys on that line averaged something like 313, which was one of the bigger starting lines in the nation at the time.

You are correct. Back in those days we had the 3rd biggest line in Div I. and we played in the SWC I think.

We will get that way again. Maybe not that big with this offense but were getting bigger and better.

True, we had a big line, but they were not as agile or strong as some lines that were "smaller." Let's get a line nearly as big, but with the strength Coach Faucette is bringing to the Ponies.

Go Ponies!
