All White Unis

For some reason I was thinking about Dunham and Miller back in the infant days of The Ticket. They used to have "Fight Song Friday" and maybe "Uniform Friday." I remember that they spent a day debating what the "U" is on Miami's helmet.

Well, it seemed to be a general consensus that white helmets, white jerseys, and white pants for road uniforms were pure genius. Sure, we haven't had any good football teams since 1989 here at SMU. But we were extremely lucky to have white helmets and all white road uniforms for a few years.

Now we don't have either. I think that the least we could do is bring back all white road uniforms. Who's with me? I think that we need to at least create a Web site or form a group in support of all white uniforms.

I'm with you.

I love all white look. Very classy. UT and Kentucky are great examples.

Kentucky's look great.
UT's still look like someone puked in the numbers and the decals on the side of the helmets.
Put an SMU Mustang on there, and you may be on to something.

I'd rather wait to change to white when we start winning again. The way we've played the past decade, I wouldn't want the world to associate the two eras.

Are you kidding me? The LAST thing I want to do is emulate the Teasips! And white uniforms remind me of the prisoners' team in the movie "The Longest Yard". Great movie but I don't want our guys looking like inmates from the Dallas County Jail.

Which reminds me of the joke about the Teasips' uniforms and inmates from the Travis County Jail.

I can't believe you just used 'classy' and 'UT' in the same phrase.

I think those leather helmets are pretty hard to come by these days. (I'm talking about the 40's of course. )

I guess you loved 1978. That was the year we wore all white on the road, and at home. Not really in favor of it, but it might save some money.
