Looks like all schools must stick to 208 pages this year. Talk about a nightmare for UT. Heck, even our last edition was 16 pages over.

Maybe UT can scale back by leaving all references to arrests, convictions and citations out?

Man, talk about hitting them where it hurts...media guides. While I agree there are some of them that are just insanely huge, doesn't the NCAA have bigger battles to fight? They talk about leveling the playing field by limiting page numbers in a media guide...how about controlling the multi-billion dollar post-season crock we have in place right now.

good point - sally

but i guess that's the whole point -

this way it makes the ncaa look like they're working, solving all the ills of college sports in the 21st century & avoiding the real problems -

what a joke!!!!!!!!!

Right, Sally.

If the ncaa wasn't looking into "Media Guides" they might have to go to Columbus & see who else is getting paid at Oh State.

Media Guides really are significant. They are often one of the first presentations a recruit gets from a university. You don't think that UT spends all that money just to help the media do you? Its all about recruiting.

While working on the Daily Campus at SMU, I was sent an Aggie Media guide and in the same manilla envelope was a copy of 101 Aggie jokes. We had an Aggie joke of the day in the week leading up to the Aggie game. I suspect UT will figure out a way around that rule by publishing a 208 page media guide and a separate "Historical Reference" guide describing Longhorn records, All-Americans, etc. Of course the Aggies will break the rule and earn their ninth NCAA sanction and be forced to lose 5 pages off their next media guide.

Maybe we can bind our 90 Greatest Hits seperately.
