Thanks for posting this link. I didn't see this video on Justin because I will never ever watch Channel 8 sports as long as Dale Hansen is there.

I have to tell you that maybe I'm paranoid, but I always look for a smirk when Dale talks about SMU. Riba's always fun.

Please--Hansen did nothing except his job--reporting the news. You want to be pissed at somebody, try the lying, cheating players, coaches and administrators of the day. They are the ones who got SMU the death penalty, not Dale Hansen.

You are correct jt, except that dale didn't just "do his job." It was a bit more involved than that. If he would've been just doing his job, he would have done a lot more about the David Stanley story, much of which remained behind the camera, and NEVER reported.

Go Ponies!

Well since Stanley was his main source, to the extent there were two different stories there, it appears he made the decision that the scandal was the bigger story and did not want to alienate his source by focusing on the lesser story. Makes sense to me. I'd say that's still "doing his job."

Maybe Dale was just doing his job during the DP era, but that is not the only reason I will not watch his broadcast. To this day, Dale does not give SMU any coverage. We are Dallas' college athletic program and the local media should at least acknowledge we exists.

It is amazing to me that Channel 5's Newy Scruggs, which is a Ft. Worth station, provides more coverage of the ponies than either channel 4 or 8.

If the local media does not support the ponies, why then should I support their broadcasts? Newy won me over last year with his continued coverage and until I see something from the other stations, I will watch channel 5.

Okay, if you say so. But you talked about Dale, not lack of coverage, so maybe I was thrown. Still, if you want to be bitter about the scandal, be bitter at the partcipants, not the reporters.

Dale Hanson wouldn't have been able to find his [deleted] or a story without the Producer (an SMU grad) who actually found and researched it. He just read the copy (and badly at that) when it rolled across the tele-prompter.

If SMU's own Administration has, by almost all accounts, ignored SMU's athletic program for 15+ why should Dale Hansen care? Belo doesn't owe SMU a thing and the sooner you get that ridiculous idea out of your head the sooner people might actual decide to solve the problem.

There now, see? Don't be mad at Dale--be mad at the back-stabbing SMU grad producer. I'm sure many around here would love to revoke his degree for doing his job, getting the story.

Regardless of his reports on SMU, Dale Hansen s$cks eggs in his own way. He is a grating blow hard. Let's move on.

Stallion, I think we know how you feel about the administration. Find something else to harp on or go read Rivals about who is not considering SMU and post it on here. Everyone is waiting with anticipation of your next Rivals post.
