They should rename this the ‘greatest moments of the past 25 years’.

So far, the only ‘great moments’ prior to 1980 are 1) our first win, 2) our first bowl appearance, 3) Ownby stadium opening, 4) Hayden Fry named head coach, and 5) Matty Bell named to the HOF. No specific gridiron glory, which I was looking forward to.

Tells me somebody was not doing a whole lot of research into our history.

Tells me someone doesn't realize that there are 68 more moments to go.

I wonder why most of first 21(16 if 21) have been from the past 25 years? It couldn't be because these mooments don't compare to the moments still to come could it? Plus, when did SMU's football history only include the years prior to the past 25 years....for some reason I thought they were counting down the moments from the past 90 years.

I wonder what ShanD would have done if he hadn't had the back injury? A player lost to injury way too soon.

Still in the lower third of the list SoCal. There has actually been some interesting history brought up which most of us probably were not even aware of. That is one reason I post these links...so more people do become aware of our history. I thought the Matty Bell piece was very informative. By the way, sweeping the SWC and going to the Rose Bowl was a bit of gridiron glory mentioned in the Matty Bell piece.

As I remember, Cavan did not have him finish the San Jose game with a few minutes left. He could have broken the 244 mark with a couple more runs.
