I thought I read where the A & M game was going to be on ABC's regional broadcast, the early 11:00 am game. Is that right?

YES! THAT SHOULD BE INTERESTING, THE AGGIES OPEN AT CLEMSON ON SEPT. 3RD, THEN HAVE TWO WEEKS OFF BEFORE THE PONIES STUMBLE INTO KYLE FIELD FOR THEIR HOME OPENER! I THINK WE WILL HAVE A BUNCH OF PLAYERS WITH BIG EYES THAT DAY.

So two home games (along with TCU) would be on TV? Start hydrating now, students. Anyone who no-shows because "it's hot" should be ashamed. This is a winnable game, and it's the season opener.

As much as I want to increase TV exposure, I don't want this to be the game on TV. Dammit, broadcast the road games, not the home games.

I subscribed to CSTV yesterday, along with Fox College Sports and about 6 other worthless channels, for $3.95/month. Thru Time Warner digital cable. Much more reasonable than I thought. I bet you DFW folks could get it cheaper, if you don't get it already for free.

Edit: Woops Just occurred to me that all DFW Ponies will be at the TCU game, and therefore have no reason to subscribe. Please disregard.

12,000 SMU fans
20,000 TCU fans
(and they won't even have to sit in the sun)

TV production costs are much lower in Dallas than they are in the less than metro towns we typically play in, so we get many more home games televised than road. I, like you, would love to see more road games on TV.

Amen, brother!

TV will kill home attendance

The NCAA foolishly allows TV coverage in the home team's market, thereby killing the very gate attendance that is now used to judge membership in Div. 1-A. SMU would be better off not having coverage for Baylor or TCU. Whereas the A&M game TV coverage will expose us nationally as the weak sister, cream puff NC game that we are. At least we scheluded some NC opponents that are worth broadcasting by the networks.
