Two questions: Should crossover opponents be permanent or should they rotate? If permanent, which 3 would you choose and why?
For me permanent would enhance rivalries, and I would choose Marshall, for their good football rep and UCF and UAB/USM for recruiting inroads into their states.

gotta rotate just to get to know the other schools. As for recruiting, let's get more competitive in Texas where there are plenty of solid I-A prospects. Florida is loaded with talent and competition for that talent, but Mississippi and Alabama?

The Big 12 does a good job of rotating their cross over opponents. The
C-USA would do well to use that system too in scheduling.

My selfish reasons are as follows: Marshall and ECU are within driving distance of DC. We play them two times at their home every four years. Also UCF is in Orlando, near lots of family, so I can go there and glom off my cousins. I like to be able to drive to an SMU game once in awhile and tailgate and put my SMU flag up on the window. If we get a permanent opponent, my only hope is that it would be Marshall or ECU and I'd get to see them every other year. But I don't want Marshall as a permanent opponent because they are tough to beat at home. So, I like rotating. Still, get to see the Ponies every two years.
