BTW in an interesting sidenote I believe the Walker Life cover was only the second cover of Life Magazine to be published in color-makes for a nice collector's item.

Have 2 of them (complete magazines... write-up was outstanding) in the cedar chest. Recently saw one at Half-Price Books for $18.

Lucky. If only I had one...

And I probably won't be able to find one in Corpus either...

they are much more common than you think. Go to any antique dealer who sells magazines---apparently a whole lot of people kept their Life's Magazines back then. Somer dealers have just about every cover availiable. I'm sure you could pick one up on e-bay too.

Down here, there aren't any great antique dealers...though I might know of a place in San Antonio where I could get one. Ebay would probably be my best bet though. I will search it to see if I can find one.

UPDATE: An absolute Gem. Autographed Life Cover. I may wait a few days before bidding

If anyone has any Doak autographs, could you confirm whether or not that is a true autograph?

Heads up: you might have to pay more than the cover price.
