What a year. I sure hope that coach was laughed at for playing two QB's ... I think one could pass and the other throw. Or, did one get hurt. I was only 6 at the time.

Also looks to be some good D.

Picked 5th ended 1st. How cool.

the game the week before against Baylor was even more dramatic. I believe SMU built a big lead about 21-0 then Baylor kept inching back and may have taken the lead. Then the SHOCKER from Lubbock was announced--lowly Texas Tech had upset Frank Broyles' Arkansas Razorbacks in Lubbock. Previously, it had seemed that Arkansas would waltz into the Cotton Bowl. I believe if 40 years have not clouded my memory that Jerry LeVias ran back a long kick for a thrilling last minute victory.

Stallion, to refresh your recollection look at number 52 on the top 90 list.

See these are the things that need to be on the list...

Not the 1997 season where we finally got a winning season!

LeVias ran back a long kickoff return for a TD to start the second half of that Baylor game. Dennis Partee kicked a field goal to win it in the last seconds, like he did at UT that year, if my memory is still functioning.

P.S. I wrote this before I read #43. IMHO, the 66 SWC Championship should be rated in the TOP 10. At worst in the top 20.

wasn't this the kick return where about ten players had a shot at LeVias and missed.

I never got to see LeVias play (except on old tapes), but from the stories I've heard, there were a LOT of plays when a bunch of guys had a shot at him and came up with handfuls of grass. What a great Mustang Mr. LeVias was .... and is!
