Special teams contributor left SMU for Trinity in S.A. I think he was very important to the special teams and it will be a big loss to loose a guy like him. He rushed for over 3000 yards his senior year at the 5A level so you know the kid can play. I m anxious to see what he does in DIII.

Where does this information come from? I could not find it in the DMN or in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, which tends to report when local athletes transfer. I also checked the Trinity athletics website, but I wouldn't go there for breaking news :)

What a shame to lose a great Mustang like Ted (hope this isn't true....) He's been a great contributor for the Ponies.
Good luck to Ted.

That sounds like trouble for my beloved Sewanee Tigers. Trinity has enough fire power as it is.

Undersized special teams kamikaze. Wore #39, I think.
I'm going to miss watching him play. Absolutely fearless.

Since I'm a Trinity grad, SMU grad, and Texas grad, I have to say that the Tigers are a class act and one of the few Div. III teams that might actually attract an SMU cast off. Yeas ago when Trinity re-evaluated their athletics program and dropped to the Div. III, I was broken hearted. Now I am just as proud of them as ever. BUT I do not ever want to hear that SMU has dropped out of Div. 1-A football. The mustangs might survive dropping BIG time football. Thus, we have got to find a way to make a go of it. Nuff said.

So if this is true, who fills Barnhart's role as special teams maniac?

How about Bryce Hudman? The stories about him playing his senior year with a broken wrist suggest he might be as tough and fearless as Barnhart.

I agree, we have more important things to worry about than guys who run down and cover kicks.
