Defensive backs

Am I the only one getting excited about the talent we have in the secondary? Looking at the players who will be on the roster in the fall:

* Kevin Garrett - fastest player on the team, great CB
* Jonas Rutledge - we all know what he did this year. Most instinctive player on the team
* Ruben Moodley - Cavan once called him the most draftable player on the team. Good size, speed, hits well - smart player
* Leroy Price - Has the tools to be sensational, at least when focused
* Matt Rushbrook - Had strong start to his freshman season
* Alvin Nnabuife - gained valuable experience as a freshman last year
* T.J. James - great frame, works hard, good athletic ability
* Matt Terry - related to Florida WR Jabbar Gaffney, meaning the athletic ability is there
* Rico Harris - Size and speed that coaches dream about. Could thrive in Bennett's defense. (Want proof? One mag rates a KState safety that nobody's ever heard of as the third-best safety prospect in this year's draft, and sites Bennett's D as the reason he blossomed
* Jamey Harper - Freshman has recruiting experts slobbering over copmbination of size, speed
* Rolando Humphrey - Bobby Burton says he was being recruited by Big 12, Pac-10 schools
* Kelvin Cox - Pure athlete who's versatile enough to play multiple positions
* Robert Gilmore - if his knee recovers fully, some say he could be the best player in this year's class

And I know I'm forgetting a few. This is a seriously talented bunch. With this group, we can really focus the front 7 on stuffing the run.

If Leroy Price has trouble staying focused (I've never seen him play), Coach Bennett is just the man to take care of that problem. Focus will never be a problem for his team at SMU.
Good luck, Ponies.
